we purchased this for my son's college apartment where he shares the kitchen with 3 other roommates. all the kitchen trash cans were sold out at all the local stores, so i went purchased this trash bag ring because it looked pretty sturdy and was more minimalist that a regular trash bin. it turned out to be better than a trash bin because they decided to hang it on the outside of the cabinet door (rather than the inside) and they can easily dump their trash and see how full it is. no having to deal with a trash lid or cleaning the trash bin. when they move out, it folds away. it works with the store plastic bags with the handles and works with regular cinching kitchen trash bags. what a great item! highly recommend for college apartments.
